Meta has rolled out new updates focusing on enhancing advertising capabilities with generative AI tools. The company announced, "Today, we are expanding the suite of tools and introducing video generative AI features." These features are available for advertisers in Ads Manager Advantage+ creative.

Image animation tool

Meta’s new ‘Image Animation’ tool will let advertisers animate their still images. This feature lets advertisers make videos from a single image. They do not need any existing video assets on Instagram Reels.

Google recently launched a similar feature. It allows Google's AI system to automatically create videos using product images.

Video expansion tool

Meta is also testing its ‘Video Expansion’ tool. This feature adjusts video assets to fit different aspect ratios without manual input. The tool will “generate unseen pixels in each video frame to expand the aspect ratio.”

Collections ads

Brands can now integrate creator content into their Collections ads on Reels and additional surfaces. They can now combine creator images or videos as “hero” assets for collections ads in Ads Manager. This new format enables two account handles to appear together.

Meta is testing a new feature for partnership ads. It lets advertisers include a creator's text testimonial. Meta said this tool aims to improve ads' performance with little effort from advertisers.
